Q: What to pack for a China trip?

China is a very interesting and thrilling country to visit. I sum up a few key things that you need to bring with you to ensure you a good travel to China.

Bring clothes according to the season you are traveling for China gets hot in the summer, and very cold in the winter. Bring plenty of comfortable clothes. A comfortable pair of walking shoes is an absolute for tourism. Sunscreen lotion and sunglasses are quite needed in the hot summer. Don’t forget a light raincoat or an umbrella except in winter months.

Don’t forget to keep the electrical converter and adapter plugs. Because China's electrical system operates at 220 volts which is a little bit different with your country.

Common toiletries, cold and digestive medications, lip balm, sanitary napkins and any over-the-counter medicines you generally use.

Camera and film are significant to a trip. Be aware that while print film is available in most places, slide film may be difficult to find. And be sure to pack extra batteries.

Read materials, including a guidebook on the places you will see before your arrival, and then you can have a better understanding to it. And it’s wise to keep a notebook to keep track of all the exciting things happening on the trip. By doing so, you can keep the wonderful memory longer.

Hope you have a wonderful trip in China.

Q: How do you make chinese food?

I think most Chinese foods are fairly easy to prepare with two primary thoughts:
1. No matter if you are chowing (stir-frying) in a pan or a wok, the cooking process will be very quick due to the high heat and small food pieces. Have everything ready to cook in individual bowls (think like a TV cooking show) and walk through the process in your mind before the first food hits the hot metal. After the sizzle starts, it's too late to chop a carrot!

2. Authentic foods come from authentic ingredients. I'm lucky enough to have a thriving Asian community in my area (military town) and access to more specific produce, meats and ingredients, but the internet is a great equalizer. Even when I don't have chinese sausages, I can use smoked sausages or even Mexican Chorizo for a great tasting dish (but I still love Rose Wine chinese sausages most). Experiment and find out what works for you and what you like.
Happy Chowing!
