If you are having a Shanghai package tour, our Shanghai travel guide introduce you to see the Huangpu River, which is one of the Shanghai tourist attractions, thus giving you a complete sightseeing in Shanghai.
Huangpu River can be taken as the mother river for Shanghai citizens. Shanghai gets most of its drinking water from the Huangpu River, which thus plays an important part for the metropolis. When Shanghai citizens refer this river, they always express their gratitude because it raises them for generations.
And the most beautiful scene of Huangpu River can be appreciated during the dusk time. When the sun sets, Huangpu River is veiled in the glittery neon lights on its banks. At this time, a Huangpu River Cruise is one of the best ways to see both old and new Shanghai. As you sail down the river towards the East Sea, you can enjoy the views of the full sweep of the Bund and the 21st century cityscape of Pudong.
Sailing under the futuristic Yangpu Bridge also contrasts to the more traditional river traffic of barges and ferries. Night cruises provide the most dramatic views of Shanghai, but cruises can be enjoyed all day. Departing from The Bund waterfront every hour from 10am to 9pm, cruises vary in length between 1 to 3 hours.
